Which languages can I practise?
Eight: English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, German and Portuguese. You pick the one you are practising, and your voice messages only reach people practising that same language — so everyone who hears you is learning it too.
How do I record a voice message?
Long-press the microphone button on the home screen. Hold it down while speaking, and release when you are done. The recording must be at least 2 seconds long.
How many voice messages can I receive per day?
You can receive up to 20 public voice messages per day.
Who can hear the voice messages I send?
A voice message you send goes into the public pool, where any user may receive it and listen to it. You do not choose who receives it, and you cannot take it back once it is out. A private one-to-one chat only begins after someone replies to you with their voice.
Can I edit my voice messages?
No. Voice messages cannot be edited after recording, so make sure you are satisfied before sending.
Can I use the app offline?
You can record offline, but sending and receiving both require an internet connection.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. In the app, go to Settings > Account Actions > Delete Account. This cannot be undone. See the account deletion page for details.
What if I receive inappropriate content?
Every message you receive can be reported — pick a reason and submit. Content confirmed to violate our rules is taken down and abusive accounts are banned. You can also block a user, after which you will receive no further messages from them.
How do I report a problem?
In the app, go to Settings > Support > Send Feedback, or email us directly. Please describe the issue in as much detail as you can.
